Doctors that are unable to gain entry onto the Specialist Register. via the normal CCT route can demonstrate the equivalent knowledge and skills by obtaining one of the following:
A Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR)
For Doctors who wish to join the specialist register and have not followed a full PMETB approved training programme, or
A Certificate confirming Eligibility for General Practice Registration (CEGPR)
For GPs who have not followed a PMETB approved training programme
Jayesh advises doctors and GPs on the application process itself, ensuring the level of quality and standards required for the supporting documentation. In the event of a rejection by the PMETB Jayesh can also advise on whether a doctor should submit the application for review.
Assisting with your appeals process
If the GMC has rejected your registration application and you’re considering appealing against the decision, you’ll need to act fast. Normally, the time limit for appealing will be 28 days from the date of the decision. This process is called “giving Notice to Appeal”. It is also important to seek legal advice as early as possible if you wish to do so, as you may need assistance in preparing documents in support with the appeal and filling out the appropriate appeal forms.
Jayesh can draft the grounds of appeal which would be submitted to an independent GMC Appeals Panel, he can then go on to represent you before the GMC Appeals Panel by way of preparing your case and advocacy.
You can appeal against:
- A decision to refuse an application for provisional or full registration with a licence to practise
- A failure to make a decision within the required period for an application under one of the above
